A2 MUSIC PROMOTION VIDEO PACKAGE

Keeping in mind the idea and genre of my music video, I researched both some student-made videos and real music videos. The above videos gave me an insight into the conventions of the genre. This research played an important role in giving me new ideas regarding the camera shots and angles and mis-en-scene of my music video. For example, these videos inspired me to have low key lighting in my A2 music video. I also got to know about different camera shots and angles ( worm's eye view, low angle, arc shot, etc) to my video appear more interesting.

I have taken the basic idea from the music video called "Take me to Church" by Hozier and "Fire meets gasoline" which is a previous A2 media studies music video produced by Joe Willmot. The two videos have inspired me to create a statement of my own. A2 music video promotion package has given me the opportunity and platform to deliver this statement. In my video, I have decided to accentuate a very taboo yet very common social issue which is homophobia like we can witness in the abovementioned music videos. Due to the cultural-religious conflict, it took me a lot of time and courage to finalize the topic of my music video but A2 music video gave me the impetus to express my ideas and views with confidence and helped me to exercise my sense of ownership.
